Recruit Insure are looking for a Remote Casualty Claims Handler to join or clients Casualty Team. This role is home based however must be able to travel to our clients Manchester and London offices for training, client meetings etc, through out the year.

Overall Role Purpose:

As an Claims Handler, you will be responsible for processing and investigating insurance claims related to General Liability policies. Working closely with policyholders, colleagues, and external professionals, you will ensure the validity of claims and support the claims journey from start to settlement. Your role will involve decision-making, identifying potential fraud, and providing necessary services to customers following accidents or incidents. You’ll also handle Employers and Public Liability injury claims, requiring a solid understanding of the relevant legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Management: Oversee General Liability claims from initial report to final settlement, investigating claims' validity, including any potential fraudulent activity.
  • MOJ Portal Management: Process claims via the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Portal, handling key stages and deadlines, including stage 2 and 3 packs.
  • Documentation and Coordination: Gather and document relevant information to support claims, including liaising with law firms for medical reports.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with customers, third parties, medical professionals, and legal teams, offering guidance and addressing issues as they arise.
  • Medical Report Analysis: Understand and interpret medical reports to inform decision-making.
  • Claim Evaluation: Collaborate with adjusters, risk analysts, brokers, and underwriters to evaluate claims and ensure fair settlements.
  • Customer Service: Ensure high-quality service, keeping customers informed throughout the claim process.
  • Task Management: Utilize an in-house IT system to manage tasks, track claims progress, and organize your workload.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Claims Handling Experience: Proven experience in managing injury claims and handling claims portfolios.
  • MOJ Portal Knowledge: Familiarity with the MOJ Portal, key milestones, and management of stage 2 and 3 packs.
  • Injury Claims Expertise: Expertise in handling bodily injury claims, including wage loss, litigation, and claim valuation.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Legal Knowledge: Understanding of relevant legal frameworks surrounding liability claims.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and experience using case management systems.
  • Multi-tasking and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work within deadlines.
